Thank you to my (Sage's) beautiful mother, Michelle Asakawa, who has been so supportive as well, in many ways, to whom this wedding is also made possible, and to her partner Doug, for supporting my mom. Thank you to my dear sister McKenna, my eternal role model, a true example of grace. A big Thank You to Kathy Sinnott &amp; Glenn Asakawa, Sage's father and step mother, who are making this wedding possible. Thank you so much to Piper and Orion Pipersky, whose own wedding the previous summer has greatly influenced us in our choice of Reception. About the Name

Our Wedding is being held on the feast day of Our Lady of La Sallette, an approved Marian Apparition, as well as the Feast day of St. Januarius, a saint to whom a known miracle is attributed: The Miracle of the Blood.     Our Lady of La Salette is an approved Marian Apparition in the Catholic Church. This is one of only 16 approved Marian apparitions by the Catholic Church. Our Lady of Salette refers to an apparition of the Virgin Mary that was reported (& confirmed after being investigated by the Vatican,) in 1846 France, to 2 young shepherds in La Salette-Fallavaux, France.     St. Januarius, also known as San Gennaro, is a revered figure in the Catholic Church, particularly in Naples, Italy, where he is the patron saint. He was martyred during the Diocletian September 19th, 305 A.D.     He is known for the miraculous liquefaction of his blood, a phenomenon that attracts pilgrims and observers to Naples Cathedral three times a year. A vial of St Januarius's blood is said to liquify 3 times a year on his feast day, September 19th, (commemorating his martyrdom) December 16th, (celebrating his patronage of Naples and its archdiocese), and the Saturday before the first Sunday of May. (commemorating the reunification of his relics.)     St. Januarius is also recognized for his steadfast faith during the Diocletian persecution and his efforts to protect fellow Christians.      We ask Our Lady of Salette & St. Januarius to pray for us, & our friends & family, in bringing us into the holy union of the marital Sacrament. We ask all this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

About the Date

I've never been to a Catholic wedding before!  What is it like? Can I come if I am not Catholic?     Everyone invited is welcome to come, practicing Catholic or not! Our wedding will be the old rite, Traditional Latin Nuptial Mass, in the Extraordinary form Solemn High Mass. There will be available programs/brochures as aids to follow along the mass. If you are not a practicing Catholic, please select no to receiving holy communion in the RSVP, and cease to wait in the procession line during the serving of holy communion in the mass. Otherwise, we ask for everyone to do their best to respect the reverence of the mass. Stay tuned!     Can we bring a +1:      Unfortunately the answer is no. Unless we have previously spoken with you, we ask no +1s without asking us first. If your plus one was not on the invitation address, please ask us first, or assume the answer is no.    Can we bring our kids:      Our wedding will be child-friendly! However, there will be alcohol served at the Reception & it will go fairly late, till 10PM. You are welcome to come early and leave early if need be.    We politely request that if you are parents to a baby, and decide to bring the baby, and the baby starts to cry during the ceremony service, please leave the building to the outdoors, or to the back of the church, towards the doors.
